Sarah Kathleen Slipke passed away on January 3, 2024 at the age of 38. Sarah was born on May 7, 1985, the third daughter of Michael & Kathleen Slipke.
Beloved daughter, sister and aunt; she will always be remembered for the nearly constant smile on her face, her stubborn determination and her strong faith.
Sarah grew up as the youngest of three daughters on the family farm. She spent many of her childhood days surrounded by pets, jumping on a trampoline and riding her bicycle. Once she got her driver’s license Sarah found joy in being the farm’s taxi driver and was often out driving the countryside to deliver people and parts from one location to the next. She graduated from Lakeside High School in 2004 and later achieved her associate degree from Cloud County Community College in Early Childhood Development.
Sarah was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Downs. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going to craft fairs and farmers’ markets. Her love of children was obvious from a young age and in her adult life she spent countless hours rocking babies to sleep and pushing her nieces and nephews on the swings. Sarah also had the unique knack to readily recall every birthday and anniversary date in her entire extended family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edwin & Miriam Slipke and Donald & Elaine Mann, and her cousin Kendra (Mann) O’Brien. She is survived by her parents, Mike & Kathy Slipke, sisters Cheryl (Ryan) Goheen, Crystal (Brady) Cline and her beloved nieces and nephews, Kaden, Makenna & Tyson Goheen, Coby, Colson, Alaina & Weston Cline, all of Downs, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
